i am running malware bytes pro.
can i uninstall MS Sacurety assentials?
or should i leave both running.
Leave them both. They are different type programs.
that's what i read on the net, but didn't think to read before i posted.
SE simply doesn't catch everything. and though it has malware protection, i find that Malware bytes catches and does a better job on my system.
i'm considering scrapping the malware bytes pro, not cause i dont like it, but cause when both Malware bytes pro and SE is running, there's more of a lag on my puter.
malware is nasty business, and i was thinkin if i had both running, i wouldn't have to use the free version of malware bytes pro to check and clean every week. between that, defrag, and the other presentative stuff i do, i find the babies fly.
but i was thinkin with pro it'd block the stuff before it got there, and i wouldn't need to clean every week saving me some time.
what's your thoughts
If you don't want it to run all the time set it so it doesn't start until you want to scan your system.
In this way, you'll be covering everything. Microsofts program does a decent job, but some help is good. I don't think it protects against this type of threat.
You have it for a reason, because maybe you visit sites that might cause issues?
if i only run it when i need to scann, then i dont need pro.
one thing that keeps comeing up is price something i forget the f program name. as a potentionally unwanted program.
i dont know what it is, but it comes up every week. when i get rid of it my pu puter goes faster. i have m malware bytes set to check potentially unwanted programs for removal. a another one that has come up more than on once is something about delta. i figure it like this. with malware b bytes pro running, that stuff wo wo wont come in, since i have all the protection stuff enabled.
the lag isn't that noticable, so i may just keep it.
If that program keeps coming back click on the details and learn what it is and why? It could be a site you visit that loads it on your box.
I'd bet is is something you do.
Also, forgot to say, if you scan and it catches things, it is worth keeping, because MS is not catching all.
So even if you just scan with it, it is doing something for you.
yeah i'm thinkin so too.
i did fineally get rid of the damn custimized web search toolbar which helped greatly.
i'll cancel malware bytes pro and next time i scann and see that, i'll go and figure out what it is, and maybe with a lil google research, figure out ware i'm gettin and maybe how to not get it.
you mean scann as in the fre version, right? you dont mean te the pro version that always runs.
I mean keep the paid version, but make it work only when you want it to. You paid money for it.
The only differents I saw was the paid version updates itself and the free you have to do it.
A couple other things.
I have a paid version, but it never caught anything my regular program doesn't, so I don't use it now, but it was worth the 13 dollars I paid once.
